Choose woolly nylon thread for soft overlocked seams

Woolly nylon is a textured, bulky thread mainly used in the loopers of an overlocker or serger. It spreads through the stitch to improve coverage and create a softer finish than standard sewing thread.

Stretch garments and close-to-skin seams

Use it for lingerie, activewear, swimwear, knit fabrics and children's clothing where softness and flexibility matter. Machine settings vary, so test the stitch, tension and differential feed on a fabric offcut before sewing the final seam.

Using woolly nylon in an overlocker

Woolly nylon is commonly used in one or both loopers, with a suitable standard thread in the needle positions. Follow your machine manual and check each product page for spool details and intended use.
