Terms and Conditions

Last updated: 27 July 2026

These Terms and Conditions apply when you browse or purchase products from the Y-Connection website.

Please read them before placing an order. By submitting an order, you agree to these Terms and Conditions.

Nothing in these terms limits or removes any rights you have under applicable consumer law.

1. About Y-Connection

Y-Connection is the trading name of:

Legal name: [INSERT YOUR FULL LEGAL NAME]
Trading name: Y-Connection
Business type: Sole trader
Business address: [INSERT YOUR BUSINESS OR SERVICE ADDRESS]
Email: info@y-connection.co.uk
Website: y-connection.co.uk
VAT number: [INSERT VAT NUMBER OR DELETE THIS LINE IF NOT VAT REGISTERED]

Y-Connection is responsible for fulfilling orders placed through this website.

2. Contacting us

You can contact us by:

When contacting us about an order, please provide:

  • Your name

  • Order reference

  • Email address used at checkout

  • Delivery postcode

  • A clear description of the issue

Do not send your full card number, card security code or PayPal password by email or through the contact form.

3. Who may place an order?

You must be at least 18 years old and legally capable of entering into a contract to place an order.

You must provide accurate and complete information during checkout.

You are responsible for checking your:

  • Name

  • Email address

  • Delivery address

  • Billing address

  • Products

  • Colours

  • Sizes

  • Lengths

  • Quantities

before making payment.

4. Guest checkout

Y-Connection operates guest checkout.

You do not need to:

  • Create a customer account

  • Create a password

  • Join a loyalty programme

  • Register for marketing communications

Our website may create an internal guest order record so that we can process and manage your purchase. This is not a reusable customer account.

Please keep your order-confirmation email and order reference.

5. Product information

We take reasonable care to describe and display products accurately.

Product descriptions may include:

  • Product type

  • Colour name

  • Size or length

  • Material

  • Manufacturer or product reference

  • Quantity

  • Intended use

  • Photographs

Screen settings, lighting and photography can affect how colours appear. A colour shown on a screen may not exactly match the physical product.

Where precise colour matching is important, we recommend ordering the relevant physical swatch or sample before purchasing larger quantities.

Product measurements may be approximate where a small manufacturing tolerance is normal for that type of product.

The product description displayed when you place your order forms part of the contract.

6. Product availability

All products are subject to availability.

Adding a product to your basket does not reserve it.

Stock information may occasionally be incorrect because of:

  • Simultaneous orders

  • Stock-counting errors

  • Damaged inventory

  • Technical problems

  • Supplier or catalogue errors

If a product is unavailable after payment, we will contact you and offer an appropriate solution, such as:

  • A refund

  • An alternative product, with your agreement

  • Dispatch when stock becomes available, with your agreement

We will not substitute a materially different product without your permission.

7. Placing an order

To place an order, you must:

  1. Select the required product, colour, size, length and quantity.

  2. Add the product to your basket.

  3. Enter the requested delivery and contact information.

  4. Review the order and delivery charge.

  5. Accept the required terms.

  6. Complete payment through PayPal.

Your order is an offer to purchase the products shown in your basket.

An automated acknowledgement confirms that we received your order. It does not necessarily mean that the order has been accepted.

We accept your order when we send confirmation that it has been dispatched.

If we cannot accept the order, we will notify you and refund any payment taken.

8. Reasons we may refuse or cancel an order

We may refuse or cancel an order where reasonably necessary, including where:

  • A product is unavailable

  • The price or product information contains an obvious error

  • Payment is not authorised

  • PayPal reports a payment problem

  • The delivery address is incomplete or unsupported

  • We reasonably suspect fraud or misuse

  • The quantity ordered is not reasonably available

  • A technical problem prevents correct processing

  • The order would require us to break the law

We will explain the reason where reasonably possible.

If payment has already been taken for an order we do not accept, we will issue a refund through the original payment method.

9. Prices

Prices are displayed in pounds sterling.

The product price applicable to your order is the price shown when you submit the order.

Any taxes that we are legally required to charge will be included in the displayed price.

Delivery charges are shown separately during checkout before payment.

We may change prices at any time, but a later price change will not affect an order already accepted.

10. Pricing errors

Despite reasonable care, a product may occasionally be displayed with an incorrect price.

Where the error is obvious and could reasonably have been recognised as an error, we are not required to supply the product at the incorrect price.

If we identify a pricing error before accepting the order, we may:

  • Contact you to confirm whether you wish to proceed at the correct price; or

  • Cancel the order and refund any payment taken.

11. Payment

Y-Connection accepts payment through PayPal only.

Depending on the payment options PayPal makes available, you may be able to pay using:

  • A PayPal account

  • A debit or credit card processed through PayPal

Payment options are controlled by PayPal and may vary according to location, device and PayPal’s eligibility or security checks.

Y-Connection does not receive or store your:

  • Full card number

  • Card security code

  • PayPal password

PayPal processes payments under its own terms and privacy arrangements.

An order is not treated as paid until PayPal confirms successful payment.

12. Payment security

Only make payment through the checkout process on:

y-connection.co.uk

Y-Connection will not ask you to send your full payment-card details or PayPal password by:

  • Email

  • Contact form

  • Text message

  • Social-media message

  • Telephone

Contact us through the official website if you receive a suspicious payment request claiming to be from Y-Connection.

13. Delivery

We deliver to the locations offered during checkout.

Our delivery services, estimated times and charges are explained on the Delivery Information page.

Delivery charges are shown before payment.

Any delivery date or timescale is an estimate unless we expressly state that it is guaranteed.

Delivery may be affected by circumstances outside our reasonable control, including:

  • Carrier delays

  • Severe weather

  • Bank holidays

  • Industrial action

  • Transport disruption

  • Incorrect delivery information

  • Exceptional demand

Unless a different period has been agreed, we will deliver without undue delay and normally within 30 days after the contract is formed.

14. Delivery address

You are responsible for providing a complete and accurate delivery address.

Contact us immediately if you discover an error.

We may be able to correct an address before dispatch, but we cannot guarantee that a change will be possible after packing or dispatch has started.

We cannot normally redirect a parcel after it has been transferred to the delivery provider.

Additional delivery costs may apply if a parcel is returned because:

  • The address supplied was incomplete or incorrect

  • The parcel was refused

  • The parcel was not collected

  • The carrier could not complete delivery because of information supplied by the customer

We will contact you before charging for redelivery.

15. Risk and ownership

Responsibility for accidental loss or damage normally passes to you when the products are delivered to:

  • You

  • A person identified by you to receive them

  • A safe place or nominated location authorised by you

You own the products once we have received payment in full and the products have been delivered.

This does not affect responsibility for a parcel lost or damaged before delivery is completed.

16. Your right to cancel an online order

If you are purchasing as a consumer, you normally have the right to change your mind and cancel an online order.

The cancellation period ends 14 days after the day on which:

  • You receive the goods; or

  • A person nominated by you, other than the carrier, receives the goods.

Where one order is delivered in separate parcels, the cancellation period normally begins after the final parcel is received.

You do not have to provide a reason for cancelling.

To exercise this right, you must clearly tell us that you wish to cancel before the cancellation period expires.

You may do this by:

  • Emailing info@y-connection.co.uk

  • Using our contact form

  • Using the model cancellation form at the end of these terms

You do not have to use the model form.

17. Cancelling before dispatch

Contact us as soon as possible if you want to cancel an order before dispatch.

We will try to stop the order, but this may not be possible once it has entered the packing or delivery process.

If the parcel has already been dispatched, you may need to receive and return it using the cancellation process.

18. Returning goods after cancellation

After telling us that you wish to cancel, you must send the goods back within 14 days.

Before returning an item, contact us for:

  • The correct return address

  • Return instructions

  • Any return reference required

Do not return goods to an address shown on product packaging unless we confirm that it is the correct returns address.

Unless the goods are faulty, damaged, incorrectly supplied or we agree otherwise, you are responsible for the direct cost of returning goods after changing your mind.

You are responsible for the returned goods until they reach us.

We recommend obtaining proof of posting and using an appropriate service for the value of the parcel.

19. Examining returned products

You may handle a product only as much as reasonably necessary to establish its nature, characteristics and functioning, in the same way that you might examine it in a physical shop.

We may reduce a refund to reflect a loss in value caused by handling beyond what was reasonably necessary.

Examples may include:

  • Cutting or altering the product

  • Sewing a zip into another product

  • Removing components

  • Marking or staining the product

  • Using the product in production

  • Damaging the product after delivery

  • Returning incomplete quantities

  • Returning a product in a condition that prevents resale

Opening ordinary packaging solely to inspect the product will not automatically remove your cancellation rights.

20. Products made to specification or personalised

The legal right to cancel may not apply to goods that are:

  • Made to your specifications; or

  • Clearly personalised.

Where this exception applies, we will make it clear before you place the order.

Selecting an ordinary stocked colour, standard zip length or standard product variation does not automatically mean that the product is personalised.

This exception does not remove your rights if a made-to-specification or personalised product is faulty, not as described or otherwise fails to meet legal requirements.

21. Refunds following a change-of-mind cancellation

Where you validly cancel an order, we will refund:

  • The price paid for the returned products; and

  • The cost of the least expensive standard delivery service we offered for the order.

If you selected a more expensive delivery method, we are not required to refund the additional amount above the standard delivery cost.

We may withhold the refund until:

  • We receive the returned goods; or

  • You provide evidence that the goods have been sent back,

whichever happens first.

We will issue the refund within 14 days after the relevant return or evidence is received.

Refunds will normally be made through the same payment method used for the original transaction.

22. Faulty, damaged or incorrectly supplied products

Products must be:

  • Of satisfactory quality

  • Fit for any purpose made known and accepted

  • As described

Contact us promptly if a product is:

  • Faulty

  • Damaged on arrival

  • Incorrect

  • Missing from the order

  • Materially different from its description

Please provide:

  • Your order reference

  • A description of the problem

  • Clear photographs where appropriate

  • Photographs of the packaging and delivery label where relevant

Do not dispose of the product or packaging until we have had a reasonable opportunity to review the issue.

23. Your remedies for faulty goods

Your legal remedies depend on the circumstances and how long you have had the goods.

Where applicable, your rights may include:

  • The short-term right to reject faulty goods

  • Repair

  • Replacement

  • A price reduction

  • A final right to reject

The short-term right to reject is normally available for 30 days, subject to the applicable legal rules.

We will bear reasonable return costs where goods are properly rejected because they are faulty, not as described or otherwise fail to conform to the contract.

Nothing in these terms reduces your statutory rights.

24. Colour selection

Colour names are intended to help identify products, but names such as red, navy, cream, green or beige can cover a range of shades.

Different screens may display the same product differently.

Where exact matching is important, you should order a physical swatch or sample before buying products for a larger project.

A minor difference caused solely by screen display does not necessarily mean that the physical product is faulty or incorrectly described.

This does not affect your legal rights where the product supplied is materially different from the product description or sample.

25. Product suitability

You are responsible for deciding whether a product is suitable for your intended project, unless:

  • You tell us the specific intended purpose before purchase; and

  • We confirm that the product is suitable for that purpose.

Product information and general guidance on the website do not replace professional technical advice where specialist advice is required.

Nothing in this section excludes responsibility where a product fails to meet a purpose that you made known to us and on which you reasonably relied.

26. Business customers

Some customers may purchase products for business use.

Consumer cancellation rights may not apply where a person is purchasing wholly or mainly for purposes connected with their trade, business, craft or profession.

Business customers should contact us before placing an order where they need:

  • Large quantities

  • Repeated supply

  • Custom specifications

  • Agreed production tolerances

  • Contract pricing

  • Guaranteed delivery dates

Any separately agreed written business terms will take priority where they conflict with these general terms.

27. Liability

We do not exclude or limit liability where doing so would be unlawful.

This includes liability for:

  • Death or personal injury caused by negligence

  • Fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation

  • Breach of statutory consumer rights

  • Any other liability that cannot legally be excluded

We are responsible for losses that are a foreseeable result of our breach of these terms or our failure to use reasonable care and skill.

We are not responsible for losses that were not reasonably foreseeable when the contract was formed.

Where you purchase as a consumer, we are not responsible for business losses, including:

  • Loss of profit

  • Loss of business

  • Loss of production

  • Loss of commercial opportunity

  • Business interruption

This section does not affect rights that cannot lawfully be limited.

28. Events outside our reasonable control

We are not responsible for delay or failure caused by events outside our reasonable control.

These may include:

  • Severe weather

  • Fire or flood

  • Carrier disruption

  • Industrial action

  • Failure of telecommunications or hosting infrastructure

  • Government restrictions

  • Public emergencies

  • Supply-chain disruption

We will take reasonable steps to minimise the effect and will contact you where the disruption materially affects your order.

Your statutory cancellation and refund rights remain unaffected.

29. Privacy

We use personal information in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

Guest checkout still requires us to process information needed for:

  • Payment confirmation

  • Order fulfilment

  • Delivery

  • Customer service

  • Returns and refunds

  • Fraud prevention

  • Accounting and legal obligations

Please read the Privacy Policy before placing an order.

30. Intellectual property

The website and its original content may include:

  • Product descriptions

  • Photographs

  • Graphics

  • Logos

  • Colour-grouping information

  • Zip Library content

  • Website design

  • Written guidance

Unless otherwise stated, this material belongs to Y-Connection or is used with permission.

You may view and use the website for personal shopping purposes.

You must not copy, republish, scrape, reproduce or commercially exploit substantial website content without permission, except where the law allows it.

31. Links to third-party websites

The website may include links to third-party services, including PayPal and delivery providers.

Third-party websites operate under their own terms and privacy policies.

We are not responsible for independent content or services provided after you leave our website, except where the law provides otherwise.

32. Complaints

Contact us first if you are dissatisfied with:

  • A product

  • Delivery

  • A refund

  • Customer service

  • The handling of an order

Email:

info@y-connection.co.uk

Please provide your order reference and enough information for us to investigate.

We will aim to acknowledge and investigate complaints within a reasonable period.

Nothing in this process prevents you from seeking independent consumer advice or exercising your legal rights.

33. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms and Conditions to reflect:

  • Changes to the website

  • Changes to payment or delivery services

  • New products

  • Changes in law or guidance

  • Changes to business operations

The terms applying to an order are normally those published when the order is submitted.

The latest revision date will appear at the top of this page.

34. Severability

If any section of these terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining sections will continue to apply.

35. No waiver

If we do not immediately enforce a right under these terms, this does not mean that we have waived that right.

36. Third-party rights

Except where these terms expressly state otherwise, a person who is not a party to the contract does not have a right to enforce it.

37. Applicable law and courts

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

If you are a consumer, you also retain any mandatory protections provided by the law applying where you live.

Consumers living in:

  • England or Wales may bring proceedings in the courts of England and Wales.

  • Scotland may bring proceedings in the Scottish courts.

  • Northern Ireland may bring proceedings in the courts of Northern Ireland.

  • The Channel Islands may have additional mandatory local consumer rights.

Nothing in these terms removes any right to bring a claim in a court that has jurisdiction under applicable consumer law.
